Non-halal meat to be banned in UAE

​ Acting Director General of the Emirates Standards and Metrology Authority Abdullah Al Maini said that from September 1st, 2014, the UAE will ban non-halal meat from the markets. Al Maini, however, added that suppliers will be given a grace period to comply with the order.
